Amethyst ANNthology is a blog dedicated to my dear beloved mama, Ann Lillian (3 February 1943 ~ 9 August 2019), and my beloved sister Laura Ann (10 February 1970 ~ 19 February 1970), two "Anns" and two of my treasured angels, both whose birthstone is the amethyst. My mama was a remarkable woman, a healer in her own right, fiercely devoted to her family, who embodied strength, courage, resilience, beauty, intelligence and compassion. She supported me in becoming who I am and her love, light, and wisdom continues to support and guide me. With a chuckle, she used to say, "Rube, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree." Now, with warmth in my heart, a smile on my lips, and a tear trickling down my cheek, I clearly see that it does not and know that her rich legacy lives on through me.
